PVEM senator supports split with Morena in 2027: "We must never forget that there have been rats."

MEXICO CITY (apro) - There are increasing numbers of voices within the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) calling for the need to distance itself from Morena and forge its own path toward the 2027 elections.
Green Party Senator Luis Armando Melgar, who once went viral for vacationing in Europe in opposition to the principle of austerity, supported the idea of the party competing without alliances in the next election.
The legislator expressed his full support for the national coordinator of the PVEM (Green Party), Arturo Escobar, who has suggested that the Green Party could "run independently" in at least 17 states.
“I agree with my colleague and friend from the Green Party, Arturo Escobar,” Melgar wrote on social media.

We must never forget that there have been Morena rats like Rutilio Escandón, now hiding in Miami, Pepe Cruz and the Tabasco Group with all their henchmen, who cynically looted... pic.twitter.com/4gZcT8Jghl

On July 28, in response to criticism of his trip to London, the senator claimed that he had worked for Ricardo Salinas Pliego and had never advocated "hypocritical austerity."
"Several ruling party members are still angry because I won the Senate seat by running against Morena. As they themselves say, we're not equal. They're rats, while I've built my career on honest work and in the private sector," he said at the time.
*Morena as an uncomfortable ally*WE ARE NOT EQUAL. Don't distract the good people. The ruling party's bots and trolls are on the loose, seeking to divert attention from corruption and the ties of several figures in the 4T to organized crime.

Melgar maintained that Morena has given shelter to individuals accused of corruption and ties to organized crime.
"We must never forget that there have been Morena rats like Rutilio Escandón, currently hiding in Miami, Pepe Cruz, and the Tabasco Group with all their henchmen, who cynically plundered and violated, with total impunity, the peace and prosperity of our noble and good people," he charged.
It's worth remembering that two months ago, the national president of the PVEM (Poverty Reduction Party), Karen Castrejón, had already announced that she was considering competing without alliances, as occurred in San Luis Potosí, where the party managed to consolidate its strength with its own candidacy.
